Queen Rock Montreal in IMAX

1 minute read

After seeing this post from Queen’s official instagram I almost instantly decided to go watch it. So I bought the ticket from Cinema Sunshine and watched it today in Grand Cinema Sunshine (Ikekubro) from 18:50 to 20:42.

While watching it a few people of the audience (including me) would clap and give applause, but not what I had imagined that they would stand up, dance (only one woman and her child did as far as I could see), and jump around. It’s an overall quiet experience. I’m not saying it wasn’t of great reception. It was. I could feel the audience’s passion to it but maybe we’re just more contained with our emotions.

It’s easy to give it 8 out of 10. After all it’s Queen. I’ve been inspired and motivated a lot in my life by their music and especially, Freddie. For the first time I heard his voice as if right in front of me and it’s just amazing. It’s assertive, flamboyant, and sometimes light and floaty like an angel. In fact I’ve watched some snippets of this concert multiple times but his energy still poured to me out of the enormous IMAX screen.

I want to sing like him, which I dared a lot in the Karaokes. Or maybe I just want to be as confident and exuberant as him.
